Drove the Vette to work today. Temp gauge (water and oil) never got above 120. I did have some heat in the car. Sound like the thermostat stuck open?
How far is it to work? How cold was it outside? It certainly could be a thermostat that didn't close, but I think it's more than that. First, it would have to be a fairly quick trip to keep the temps under 120, and/or awfully cold out. And second, 120 would generate very little, if any, heat from the heater. I think there is a guage problem AND a stat problem. Good luck, and...
About 1/2 hour ride to work on interstate. Temp outside was about 14 degrees. Your right, there was very little heat! I don't think its a guage problem, they seemed to work fine last summer. Hopefully the t-stat is at fault. Maybe someone installed a 160 stat.
A 160 stat does provide VERY little heat from the heater. A half hour of interstate driving would be more than plenty to get to 160*. I'd start with the stat, and see how things look from there. *I* would reccommend nothing lower than a 180. Good luck, and...
