Powersteering Leaking fluid, what should I look for first?
I have noticed that when I drive my 86 vette lately, it makes a noise when I turn the steering wheel. Especially when it is still cold. The power steering fluid is leaking, although I haven't had time to find out exactly where. I changed to synthetic fluid about 8 months ago. (Didn't notice any problem initially) When I checked it this past weekend, it was very low fluid level & bubbley appearance. It also seemed to have a "greyish" look to the fluid, vs. the clear look of the synthetic fluid I changed to. I have to add fluid just about every time I drive the vette now. Any suggestions as to where to start? PS- It isn't leaking directly from the resevior.

Mine leaked at the pinion valve(input shaft)
Check all connections and hoses also.
A good degreasing of affected areas, then a short drive should reveal the leak.

 My 88 leaked at the hose connections to the reservoir.
I have pulled the resevoir, but not the hoses, several times to remove radiator shroud. I think I might have loosened the connectionss. retightened, no problems
When you switched to the synthetic fluid, how many times did you drain the reervoir? Takes about three times, starting and driving in between, to get all the old fluid out
