Hey guys I finally got the X-Pipe assembly installed today (tonight actually). I finished putting it together yesterday, and made a bracket. My Dad helped on that one... metal bends a lot easier when its cherry red :yesnod: . So then it was brought to a welder not too far away and was heliarced. The guy did pretty good welds, you know, it kind of looks like a stack of dimes (or whatever you coin preference is). Only $25 bucks too. After that a few modifications... a break, dinner. And look! An X-Pipe in a Corsa system...
It definitely changed the exhaust note, and loudness. It is still quiet when cruising. From around 3000 RPM on up it gets louder. It a word it adds more "*****" to the system. Oh and no more "popping" upon deceleration. I doubt my butt is so well calibrated, but it seems like it’s doing better up top :crazy: . So far I'm very pleased with it. Here are pics!
looks great. i'd like to try that, but keeping the center mufflers. i'd have to move them back, but i worry that this would change the resonance tuning too much.
how is the resonance? did it get any worse? the only reason i went corsa in the first place is zero resonance, i'm not willing to let go of that.
Thanks for kind remarks guys, I'm glad you like it, as for the question about resonance... still there really isn't much at all. It stays quiet up until about 3000 RPM then it gets louder. ItÂ’s not that bad though. It sounds very sweet, especially outside the car. I switched and had my dad drive past me at WOT, music to my ears. I thought it was going to be way louder without the resonator, but it wasnÂ’t. Total price for parts and labor (welding) was about $130. So if I didnÂ’t like itÂ… no big deal, just take if off.
As for horsepower increase, I know it probably picked up something. ItÂ’s hard to say how much, only the dyno could tell me that. It felt like it had a little bit more up top, but I may just be telling myself that :crazy:. I want to go drive it moreÂ… but well itÂ’s raining now. :cheers:
