I have these cracks at the corner of my hatch. Is there a fix you can install to keep this from happening again after you fix them? Someone told me that there is a plate on 87+ C4's to fix it. Thanks
Are they in the glass or the fiberglass? I have a few wispy ones in the fiberglass on the clamshell hood-- driver side in the verticle slanted area between bumper and wheel well.
The plate you are talking about is glued on the backside of the quarter. you cannot add one without major surgery. 84 cars are prone to cracking because springs are very stiff (even non z-51 cars) Cracks can be repaired but tend to come back. :chevy
Yes I am talking about the cracks in the fiberglass. I have changed my shocks to some softer ones which helped the ride. I really dont want to lose anymore handling capability. Thanks.

that will help the symptoms, but the core problem the existing damage...
you will have to dig deep to fix it, and, even deeper to keep it from happening in the future.
a comment about suspension tuning and handling - just cause the suspension is super stiff does not automatically = excellent handling. a suspension that is too stiff will cause you mucho problems... next time you hope for traction in the middle of a corner, you will encounter more trouble than it's worth... the backend, or, for that matter, the front end, could just jump out of line.
