Anyone here been to the x-ram.com website and bought one of there
intakes for 84 vettes?? How was it to install, what kind of improvments could I see i buy one??? They told me With a 85 fuel pump, roller rockers,
and that intake, It's worth 100 rwh??? :steering: :flag
I have one installed. As for 100 rwhp, don't know, but you will notice an improvement. I think it is well worth the money and time. Great mod for the 82/84 Vette
Most guys who have one say they are happy with the improvement, but do not expect 100 more horses! Go to the crossfire vault (forum), there you will find hours of reading on this topic and a back to back comparison on a stock 84. From memory it picked up about 25rwhp and 25rwtq throughout the rev range.
I have put one on my new 383, but it won't be in the car for a couple of weeks yet.
Ben.
Absolutely, NO way !!! My amateur, home ported, manifold cut MORE than a half second off my 1/4 mile times. I don't think you can expect that, and certainly no more, from an X-Ram. I have $30.00 for a spare Crossfire set up and lots of time invested in mine. Also, you might want to test your fuel pump. If the '84s pump is working properly, the swap to an '85 will provide no increase in perfomance. If the fuel pressure starts to drop, approaching 6000 rpms in 2nd gear, then go for a later pump. Have fun with your Crossfire, and...
