Hmmmm, I would have said no; the MSD SuperConductors didn't fit factory looms in my IROC so I went with Made For You looms. This is one reason I went with TPIS wires on the Vette.
I had MSD 8.5 mm wires and the coil to optispark wire spark arc'd against the water pump housing. It arcd at the boot/wire junction on the opti side. I wrapped electrical tape around that area and have not had any more problems.
Might want to run your car in a dark garage with the hood up, rev it quickly/sharply looking for spark arcing anywhere.
There is no way the MSDs fit in an L98 wireloom. They are too beefy. You'll need to grab some aftermarket ones if you want looms.
:iagree: The jacketing seems much thicker than other brand 8.5's.

So will other brand 8.5's fit? i.e. Taylor?
Also - what are your thoughts on the factory wires? Can't be too bad considering mine have gone 125k. But they are close in price to the MSD's so I figure I may just make the upgrade. If new looms are required then the there is another 40-50, so I'm not sure if I want to spend that if the factory wires will suffice, therefore my original inquiry was made.
Personally, I like my MSD's. As most who have them will tell you. I simply went to Autozone and grabbed some plastic looms in red that fit well. They don't mount to the engine anywhere, but they are a neat clean solution.

They get the job done, but like any electrical component they wear out over time. The factory ones as you know are going to cost about the same if not more than a nice set of aftermarkets MSDs will.
Your original looms may already be super brittle and will fall apart when you change wires anyways. That tends to happen given all the engine heat they've been exposed to over time.
