Re: First Dyno Run. Does this sound right? (Vette N It)
If i were you i would change the rear end gears to 3.73 (if you haven't got them already) i think that would make the 30bhp without touching the engine.
If its an auto put a dana44 in it.

WHOA..... gears do NOT make power. They only translate how the power you already have gets to the wheels.

The 270 and 311 are about where they should be
A full new longtube header setup would probably get you about 15hp at peak, with increased power everywhere. 1.6 roller rockers might get another 10-15.
But to get the rest, you would need to get into the engine. Since small mods dont help the LT1 quite as much, its designed well enough already. Head porting and matching to the manifold, and a cam change would get the rest and much more. Realize that a cam change would necessitate changing valvetrain parts, and if you went with stout enough springs, you can go up to 1.7 RR for a little more power.

Vader,
Thanks for the info. Would it be possible to to do just the the longtubes and 1.6RR and expect 20+?
Also, I am almost certain the plugs and wires are original, and even though I only have 36k on the clock do you think I would pick up any with new ones?
