I had to have my headlight motor repaired recently - Corvette Central did it.
I noticed on the motor that there is a horseshoe shaped wire clip down near the manual adjustment **** - runs from one side of the motor to the other and locks into a little notch.
I noticed too that the words "OPEN" and "CLOSE" are stamped on the motor right near this wire clip.
Does anyone know what it's for and whether it needs to be unclipped to somehow adjust the motor's travel?
Hi Jake,
I have no Idea and I remember seeing that on my old motors.Never paid any mind to them.Just bringing this back TTT for ya.
I had however, thought it had something to do with the polarity position of the motor(s) before they were energized. Are you having any trrouble with the new headlight motors?Do they continue to run a few seconds after they close?
Just wondering.
:)

I can't find anything that tells me what it's for
the wire clip is only used,(pulled over the ****) when the motor is not working...it keeps the light assembly from closing/opening when in manual mode...
