on my 96 the resignator is coming off, some people say go with an X-pipe (i have one) and some people say just have straight pipes welded in place... what would be to advatages and disadvantages to both??
I would go with a X pipe or H pipe. I bought my 92 with no resonator and duals all the way out.I don't like the way it sounds. You tend to hear one side louder than the other (while in the car). With a crossover you get more of a smooth roar or powerfull woosh.I've had H pipes before and loved how it smoothed out the exhaust note. Not so much quieter, just smoother and well balanced.Ever been behind a jacked up Z71 truck with true duals? You can hear the different cylinder banks firing, raspy. It's a matter of taste, but I don't want my vette to sound like some clapped out mustang 5.0.
As I'm typing this, I'm staring at my new Hooker SuperComps, ceramic coated, just dieing to put them in with a crossover. :chevy
you are wasting your time and $ on teh traight pipe. It horrible sound and lost of low end. I did the straight pipe and hate it. Now I got Dr. Gas X pipe and am very happy with it
I went with no resonator and straight pipe and a cross-over up by transmission. I wouldn't go with straight pipe only though. From what I understand X-pipe or H is always better than just straight duels.
