Default performance upgrade suggestions

94 coupe with 51,000. Only mods to date are K & N filter and Corsa power pulse exhaust (which I love). Looking for performance upgrades to boost HP without breaking the bank. The parts magazines make all kind of promises but I am not sure what is the best place to start. Thinking about throttle body (52mm or 58mm?) Also possible mass air flow sensor upgrade. Low temp thermostat? Etc.

Hello Ian, If nobody has done it, welcome to the forum. :hurray:

If you want a real kick in the pants, go with a set of gears. 411s work well on 6spds and 354s work well on autos. How's the header situation? Personally, I don't think you need a 52mm TB on a stock engine. After the gears, heads are the next big improvement you can go with then a cam upgrade. One think I found out in Vetting, horsepower costs.

Dont buy a bigger TB, dont waste money on a Granatelli MAF or remove the screens in your current one, that doesnt help LT1s.

Gears, 1.6 Roller rockers, higher stall TC if you have automatic....would all be good mods with gains.

Longtube headers if you dont mind loudness.

The thermostat is up to you, depends on your normal operating temps.

1.6 R/Rs are your best bang for the buck. It all depends on how much $$$$$$$ you are looking to spend. I would go 1.6 R/Rs then headers and HF cats (If you have emisions).
