about every other time i drive my vett this flashes on my digital readout screen about every ten seconds. then the other half of the trips i make in my vett i dont notice it. i assume it means SYS for system. i had the codes read in it not to long ago and didnt find anything. any ideas?

Well try reading the codes again. If nothing shows up, disconnect your battery for a few minutes-it should clear it if you haven't got a problem.

I'm going to guess your battery's about to go. When it's weak, its voltage is low, esp after a cold start, then the SYS gets set.

I had exactly the same indication on my mpg meter for a long time, then the speedo and fuel gage started acting up. Start by checking electrical connections, especially at the junction block behind the battery [where all the fuseable links tap off]. I found one of the crimp on lugs held by two strands of wire (corroded). I went ahead and cleaned up the rest of them. Also the cable from the battery was blistered where it curved around the battery, it to was corrded on the inside of it. My voltmeter is even reading higher now!
Hope yours was as easy as mine was to fix.

Mine was low battery a few years ago. But those connections could cause similar low voltage problems too.

AH! well my bettery IS about to go. i can tell! i just didnt know there was a warning message for it!. thanks a lot for clearing that up!
