Any tips on checking the ignition module(coil)? I am throwing some ignition related codes (Code 16), which point to the opti, but my opti is brand new. I had my Electric WP switch voltage wired to the ignition module switch (so that I could turn on the WP just by turning the key to the on position without starting the car), and am wondering if I did my ignition module in.
I'm assuming the car is running? If that is the case the module generally is a work or no work condition. You may want to be sure that it is grounded. I ran inot a situation sometime back where I thought my ignition module was bad and unfortunatly my opti had bit the big one...
Aside from throwing codes how is it running?
I also have found that the connectors to the coil are prone to opening up i.e. it gives an intermittant spark I found my by accident I had the car idling and wiggled the connector to find tha tthe engine stalled!
I went through the same deal. I took my ignition module out and down to Autozone and they checked it out. Of course after it tested good I found out that it either works or doesn't.
