hard start problem
I just put new spark plugs in. The old ones had a whiteish coating on the electrodes.
I've pulled no codes since I reset the computer last night when I swapped out the maf. Usually the car's hard to start when I reset the ecm, but it used to go away after a startup or two.
I checked the vacuum lines and all looks well there, I did find one line unplugged, but it may have been from when I was digging around by the throttle body checking the lines. Either way, it made no difference on the condition.
The fuel pressure is good, both at idle, w/ the motor off and the system pressurized and with the car running at diff rpm. The fuel pump comes on and pressurizes the system when I turn the key.
All the plugs are firing. To what intensity, I don't know for sure, but I used a spark tester to see if they were firing. The wires and cap are fairly new, less than 15k miles.
The car runs smoother with the new maf, but it still wants to be a pita to start.
I'm baffled as to what it could be. It can't be the cold start injector, since it does it whether the car's warmed up or ice cold.
I guess the only thing I didn't check was the injectors. But they're fairly new too.
Any ideas?
Chris
I was playing with it tonight and it seems if I touch the gas a little, it'll start right up.
Its deff worth a try. Thanks for the idea.
Chris
