:iagree: Me too, about a year ago, still look good. You don't have to take them off for paint. Clean them up good, mask off everything you don't want painted, clean the rotors with brake-cleaner.

Painted my VW calipers with ordinary Krylon three years ago. They have held up far better than I ever expected. Used about a tenth of a rattle-can.
Anodized calipers would be the ulitmate. Anodizing is not plating. Anodizing is a controlled oxidation process. The colors are obtained by dyeing the aluminum oxide layer afterwards. Clear anodize is simply un-dyed. Anodize, being aluminum oxide...the same stuff they make some abrasives out of...is very hard and durable, unlike a lot of plating (zinc, cad, nickel, etc.).
