Default Preparing for a TPiS LT header installation

The 'vette's a 1990 and I JUST got my new toys in the mail the other day. I was interested in any tips and tricks you guys can give me before I start pulling her apart. Also, how long does the usual installation take? Thanx!

Its gonna take a little while. Especially if you haven't ever pulled the manifolds before. Get some cold beer and a friend because some of these bolts are hard to get to and some are rusty and dont want to move. Start early in the weekend. :yesnod: Good luck

I've got access to a frame lift and all the pneumatic toys my heart desires for the time bieng so the rust shouldn't be that bad :smash:

Thats Great! You lucky Bastich! Then a few things to look out for is the oil dip stick, starter motor, spark plugs, knock and any other sensors, and I think TPIS has an issue with the Y-pipe. Pretty sure with auto's. I dont know anything about it tho. :yesnod:

I agree, put some Liquid Wrench or Blaster on the Y-pipe bolts over night before starting.

I've heard that the gas lines need to be moved slightly where they cross the frame.

I just started my process. I should have my headers delivered tomorrow. Those Y-pipe nuts are not too bad with an impact wrench and lots of PB Blaster. Still have one on the passanger side that I can't get off, only can fit a 3/8" ratchet and just too rusted still, so soaking it overnight.
