Pretty sure the aluminum heads came out in the later 86's.

Aluminum heads came out in the later part of 1986. All 1987s have aluminum heads. Your '87 also is the first year of roller lifters and a roller cam.

Yep 1988 was the release of the D-Port 113 castings. Good for 350hp untouched unlike the 86L-87 ones good for about 300.

My Corvette parts book shows 1986 as the transition year between iron and aluminum heads. If my memory serves me, all 1986 convertibles had the alum heads. The change in 1988 must have been from the 128 alum heads to the 113 alum heads.

RACE ON!!!

Mainly the exhaust port design, the 113s is more D-shaped and bigger.

There are some other rather small differences that I cant remember.
