ECM Failure
If my ECM is going bad,, how would I know,,, what are the symptoms????
I did a complete tune up on the car this week,, from O2 sensor, new gaskets on everything to you name it I did it..........
I drove it around the loop down here and I am getting 30.8 MPG :yesnod: :cool:
But yesterday I took it for a ride and it threw a 42 code on me,,, possible of ECM failure,,, what are the symptoms??????????

A lack of code 12.
A lack of the fuel injectors not turning on when the motor turns over.
A code 72. >>>

SECURITY/SYS lights flashing at the same time
This is what I have and from looking through the archived posts, these seem to be the usual symptoms to ECM failures. I am ordering one this weekend and will udpate if it fixes the above problems like it has in the past for others.

Code 42 probably means a knock sensor. I got that code once and found that the wire going to the knock sensor had come off.

Make sure the ECM connectors have the "finger" thingys installed...they push on the connector contacts to insure contact. They are usually blue or yellow in color.
