since I'm new to the forum I have a stock 93 coupe & I was wondering if there is anyone here from MI who would know where I could get my exhaust upgraded along with a chip. Also where can I get SS brake lines for my car.
I got my chambered exhaust from Mid America and my Hypertech chip and a 160 thermostat from Ecklers. If you add the chip, replace the thermostat! The two biggest advantages to adding a Hypertech chip is: 1. Lower temps (fans come on at a lower temp) 2. Helps improve shifting on automatics (doesn't search for 3rd or 4th gear as much).
As for the brake hoses, I got mine from Vette Brakes: http://www.vettebrakes.com

which exhaust system did you purchase? does it have Borla's or some other muffler? I do get midamerica catalogs.
also is there anyplace in MI I can get the exhaust done without purchasing it from an aftermarket source? :steering:
I purchased the Chambered Exhaust System from Mid America. It was $550 for the cat-back setup. Essentially, you remove the resonator and mufflers and replace them with two sections that are just like side pipes from the early Sharks (C3's) that are routed just like the factory exhaust to two muffler eliminators. It was easy to install, just unbolt the old stuff, yank it out of the way and bolt up the new stuff. Only thing I needed to get was exhaust clamps, as my kit didn't include them. This setup will give you an agressive sound, similar to the late C2's, early C3's with side exhaust, but unlike side exhaust, you can still listen to your radio with no problems. I go on 3-4 hour trips around Florida all the time in my Vette and drive 70 miles per day in it (notice mileage...I drive my Vette!). I do not find the sound overwhelming at all. Resonance is low in my 93. As for a place in MI, I don't know. Check in your yellow pages under exhaust. There are a couple of places here in South Florida that you can purchase a kit and have them install it. I am sure you can do the same with some up there. Good luck!
Red_Vette_93, yes, I know a place in Chesterfield Twnsp. called PF&E engineering. It's right by Selfridge. They installed my flowmaster catback, and they are going to do my EM longtubes also. If you post in the great lakes section, you may get more local folks to answer, but I'll warn you they are mostly C5 guys, so they are more familiar with C5 types of shops. :seeya Welcome to the forum, and send Zack an email on the Great Lakes forum to update you on events. Dyno day at Livernois auto shop end of April!!
