I have read alot about shocks in the forums. I can't justify spending hundreds of dollars for shocks when the blue book is so low for my daughters 1985 C4. Has anyone gone with the ac delco shock package thats on their website? I also saw a good article about cleaning the throttle body on ths site. I have since lost it and can't find it anymore. If you have a link please let me know...thanks...Jim
I would stay with the stock, unless the car is performing badly.....(...model, options, mods would be helpful here). I just saw the post about throttle body cleaning tonight, can't find it again, sorry. Someone out here knows though. I am assuming of course that your daughter is not racing?

 If you are planning on selling the car, hope the new owner doesn't notice the worn shocks :bb
If you are planning on your daughter keeping the car, enjoying the car, spend the $$ on the right shocks. Blue book value only amounts to something if you are selling or buying....not driving! Just MHO :D :D :D
If your going to be driving it spend the money on shocks, they are WELL worth it. This summer I replace my 85s shocks, drives like a different car, stock shocks are dead by now. I've heard good things about KYBs, they are less then $50 per shock I believe. I AutoX so got adjustable shocks, they are about the same price as Blistin replacements and great, $135 per shock.
I just put Edelbrock IAS on mine. What a difference! I wish I had only done it 5 yrs ago. Car handles great and rides like it was on air. Actually made all my rattles go away. These shock automatically adjust themself. I paid $114.00 each
While on the topic of shocks. I have a 1996 a4 (which equals lack of a ride control system). I have been wondering if you can purchase the adjustible shocks that were in the corvette or something close to that and simply put a switch in the car?
Anywhere where I could go looking.
Thanks
