Talked to a guy today that said he has a Superchip from his 93 6 speed, that should work with my 92 auto. I don't know a whole lot about this, but is it possible??
Re: 93 6 spd Superchip into 92 auto?????? (shribe)
If it was for an auto I would say yes. Since I believe there are no changes in the ECM from 92 to 93. But since the transmissions are different that's a definite NO. There are things in a chip for manual car that will cause your 92 to not work... or do funny things. Such as the CAGS for the ZF 6spd.
Reprogrammed? I'm not sure what kind of chips Superchip uses. EEPROMs or EPROMs. So that's a maybe. But the thing is I don't know if superchip would reprogram it for you, or if you'd have to buy a new one.
I don't know how much he's asking, but Alvin at pcmforless could do a better job for $150.
