Mighty Mouse Update....434 Buildup
Got it all painted last night till 1:30 in the morning from 5:00pm in the evening. Came out AWESOME! Could not be more pleased.
Went out tonight and got the timing cover on with the adjustable cam endplay all dialed in. Took a little playing around but finally got it all dialed in to where I was happy.
Got the pointer all lined up to TDC. Took a snapshot of the why you should NEVER trust a cheap pointer to adjust your timing. The tick marks on the cheap pointer I had laying around did not even come close to the tick marks on the balancer. Off about 2-3* just trying to line up the numbers!
Got the balancer also.
Then I had to mock it up a little to see what the finished product is going to look like. UNREAL. My wife and kid came out to take a look. She asked what looked better....Her or the Motor joking around. I replied....baby you come in a close second :jester
Hope you like the pictures.
Will be on the road the next couple of days out in Detroit at GM straightening out more of their screwups on through to Tuesday:rolleyes:. So I appreciate the comments and am not ignoring questions or comments. Thanks.
I keep having this song from the new Dodge advertisements going through my head. Goes something like this... Heeeeer hemi, hemi, hemi :boxing
Can't wait to meet a few of the local mopar guys at the track when this baby is perculating :yesnod:
Hope you likeem

Definately will share them when I figure it out myself
Basically already have it firgured out with an idler on the passengers side. Might have to go with a march alternator mount, with an adjustable arm to take up slack....not too sure yet to be honest. But rest assured I will come up with something to make it work. The CSI pump looks too good not to stay on there

Just want to throw this out there, me and a freind have that timing cover, it's perty and allows easy access to adjust cam timing but does not allow for a swap w/out removal. We both thought it did. If a cam swap might be in your future, (perhaps a more n20 friendly stick) a 3 piece might be the way to go. I wish now that I had spent the extra dollars. Just an idear.

Jesse, thats the same timing cover I have. Are there any tricks to pass on in adjusting end play? Its lookin good man
Thanks for the link...I will check in to that setup. That might be the way to go as you said. Now that the AC is off that side. Thanks.. Only problem is march stuff pulls some pretty heavy money.
As for the inquirey about the cover and endplay. Its really not that hard to get it set. They recommend zero endplay. So make sure your cam is as far back in the block as possible. Slight taps if the valve train is together will get it to the back of the block. Once that is done, install the outter part of the covers with the face off. Remove the set screw from the face plate. And adjust the button all the way in. Install the face, remember the o-ring. TIghten it down. Now carefully turn the button till it contacts the cam face. This is zero endplay. Install the set screw. I put a little blue thread locker on it. Now when the aluminum heats, its thermal expansion is less more than the iron and you will achieve enough endplay. The desired is less than .003" for consistant timing throughout the RPM range
