Default Some thing new, an engine paint question

I want to paint my fuel rail covers and valve covers on my 94 LT1 motor :yesnod:
Would a good primer and then a "high heat" engine paint work well?

Any ideas or "done thats" would be helpfull :yesnod:
Thanks, Larry :steering:

I donno if you need to prime... so much as have the right high heat paint.

engine paint is the best bet for that application.

I would use a flexable epoxy primer to help the paint stay on the Fuel rail covers. Be sure to get all the oil off or the paint won't stick.

I painted my valve covers, pleunm, runners, TB and other aluminum brackets with Rustoleum Hi Temp Silver paint. The paint is over a year old and looks great. You can also make the exhaust system look great by painting the system from the cat converter on back! Let me know if you want a picture!

your auto store will carry 500 deg paint and 1200/1500 deg paint. Both will ask that yoy use "their"primer. I've done it without the primer and it doesn't last as long as with the primer.
