Default IAT OR MAT ?

I know, stupid question is the Manifold Air Temp and Intake Air Temp Sensors on in the same. If so other then complete dis-assembly. Any secrets to changing without removing the runners.
Or is the Mid America re-location harness worth the 50 bucks? For ease of service and power?
Thanks in advance.

I searched and ask about relocating it, and it seems the majority said it was a waste of time. I decided to leave mine in the plenum.
At the pace I'm moving now, that extra mod would add a week to the finish date  :smash:

With the distributor removed, you can reach the connector.

You could then just leave the stock MAT sensor installed in the plenum. Connect and run the new extension wires to the front of the engine compartment.

Just install a new sensor and bung in the air filter housing, plug it in and you're done.

Since the new location will give the sensor cooler air to, well, sense, the air/fuel mixture will be richer. Whether this is of benefit or not depends . . .

I think I was sent the wrong kit, I don't know. I figured I could use the wire from the MAT that's under the plenum, I unhooked it w/ a screwdriver but the relocation harness didn't fit. I had to used a claw to fetch the other side of the wire behind the distributor and used the same screwdriver to hold the wires to the back of the block. The relocation harness fit that plug.
