Urgh, when I take my car out of gear and just coast, especially at slow speeds, I can hear this clanking noise coming from the right driver side wheel. At first I thought it was the wheel bearing, but I took my wheel off and started testing and fooling around. I noticed my caliper, it is moving around about 1/8th to 1/4ths an inch causing the noise.
The two caliper bolts seemed pretty tight, the wheel is pushed back as far as I could get it, and the lug nuts are tight.
What could cause it? I noticed the other side is a little loose, but nothing like this.
Did you check the locking ring that holds the pin in place? It's possible the pin is backing out allowing the caliper to move within the mounting bracket. Just a thought.
I'm curious what the fix for this is also, both of my front calipers rattle around even though the pads are tight, I thought it was normal, guess it isn't?

I don't remember them making this noise until I changed the pads.
So no way its normal. And it definatly goes away when i apply the brakes.
My car (96CE-LT4) was doing this when I bought it a few weeks ago. I took it to a corvette place and they said it was missing the clips on the brake pads / calipers. Of course you can not just buy the clips, you have to buy the "kit". They replaced the "kit" and now there is NO sound. It sure makes a big difference!
