The driver’s side latch isn't releasing. Tried pulling the cables under the dash with a pair of pliers to get more travel without luck. There must be another way to get at the hood latches. Ideas?
I know Mid America sells a tool that helps with this. After you get it open make sure you attach long wire ties around the latch where the cable attaches. Let them hang into the cowl under the wipers. A simple pull on each wire tie will open the hood if it happens again.
Awesome, I have the same problem. Removed everything from the fire wall to clean up under the hood. After cleaning up shut the hood for the night, later I couldn't get it open.
Mine has threatened to stick a couple times but always eventually worked. I've been detailing the engine bay this winter and was looking at the latch setup. It is adjustable. Anybody done that? Share the knowledge?
first, if it ever gets stuck, try holding the lever inside the car open while lifting the hood (you have to open your drivers window to do this). i had to do this with mine once. after it is open, look at the latch that didn't stick and see how far out the "catch" sticks into the hole...then adjust teh other side. the cable housing is threaded, just loosen the set nut and spin. you'll see the catch moving. if the hood is sticking then obviously the catch needs to be moved further out of the hole....good luck
