Auto trans indicator light question?
Is there more than one bulb to light up the gear indicator? The lower portion is well lit, but the upper is dim. Is there a bulb in the upper part, or is it supposed to look this way?

Maiden,
I think there is only one. My vette (in Sig) is an 85 and mine didn't work at all when i got the car. I rplaced the only lamp i saw and it lights up perfectly. Double check with the other guys here at CF if yours is alot newer than mine (good chance it is...lol) :seeya
On my 88 there are two bulb holders , one at each end. I only had one bulb and it had fallen out of it's (broken) holder - that could be why your light is dim.
I took everything apart, put new fluurescent paint on the indicator and fixed the bulb holder - I use the rearmost one so the light shines on the indicator not in my eyes.

Are you reffering to the Ovedrive upshift indicator light? If so, I was wondering the same thing.
Mine lights up, except the bottom words that say"for best economy" those never light up. Only the arrow and the word "upshift" light up on mine.
:lurk:
