clear coating polished wheels
i was thinking about putting a clear gloss powder coat on my polished C5 wheels, has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing?

Oh wow, don't do it. I had very slight peeling on my c-4 rims and had this experienced wheel repair guy do mine and here is what happened...He took the clear off and started buffing well, the "machined wheel look" turned into shiny metal finish. The kicker is the metal finish looked alright, but didn't have near the shine of a "machined finish" you know how the machined finish has that rainbow of color shine?. Well, it goes away. I would recommend it on a semi-shine wheel or in a small area but never on the entire wheel you will screw them up. I wound up having mine chromed and I love'em now. On the other hand.... if you like duller wheels then....er um.. Good deal!!
