Y'all are gettin a little whacky one me. The wife and I do like the Pam picture though. Thanks. Now if I could just have some warm weather, and an experienced rear changing person standing near me (hello Wheelsup). I would feel alot better about this whole experience. I have reread the Jesse tips a dozen times, and wish I had actual experience instead of virtual experience.
Hi,
I want to be able to change the gear oil in my '91 coupe. But to me it seems the drain plug on my Dana 36 is either very tight, or it has siezed. I don't want to apply so much force that I crack the aluminum housing. Are these drain plugs always this tight? If so, what does everyone else do when they change the diff. fluid? Using a suction gun may work, but it sure is messy!

Well - after getting the rear diff rebuilt and back. The rebuilder (Carl) told me in no unceratin words "two bottles of regular oil and one of posi lube" This will wear the gear in properly for the first 1000 miles. Then you can switch to that fancy synthetic lube
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
I just had 3.73 gears installed and the manufacturer (Precision Gear) says NOT TO USE SYNTHETIC until the gears are worn/broken in. If synthetic is used, the gears will run hot and cause damage.
