91 vette what's wrong???
i have a autometer eletric water temp gauge and it reads lets say 180 degrees and when i hook up my ez link scanner it reads 200 degrees which is right?? and why isn't it the same?? will a mechanical gauge work better if so where is a easy to find port on the manifold??? by the way i do have a 160 stat with the stock prom if this helps. thanks :confused: :confused:

I believe your motor has more than one temp sensor.Not positive, but do think this is the case.One reads block temp and one for head temp.Thats why you are getting different temps. :chevy

well i think i have it hooked up to right one?? i disconnected the stock senser where it ran from the cluster to the passanger side of the block thats where the stock temp location is????????????

Your vette has two coolant temp senders. One operates only the dash temp gauge. The other goes to the ECM which allows the ECM to change fuel to air, etc. Your scanner gets info from the sensor that goes to the ECM. These coolant sensors are at different places on the engine and that is the biggest reason why they show different temperatures.
