NHRA requires a SFI spec flexplate if you run faster than 10.00 or over 135 mph. The SFI damper is required if running 10.99 or quicker. Of course, there are other NHRA requirements at these performance levels. Good luck, and...

I was looking a dampers and flexplates.
How important is SFI? Are they need in mild racing? (1/4, Auto-x, Road racing)

Hi Todd,

Depends on what class you'll be running in. SFI approval means that it has passed some elemtary tests and is approved for racing applications. I haven't read the rule book in awhile, but if you run the 1/4 under a certain time, you must have SFI approved parts. For me, it's worth a little peace of mind to pay for the SFI approval.
