I am considering a Carbon Fiber dash kit, and would like some input from those of you who have them, or had them.. Which brands to get, how did the install go, did it stay stuck.. etc... Just needing some input before I buy.. Thanks..

i HAD a wood kit "overlay"....that was my first mod...yanking that crap out...grey interior with brown wood kit?? geez...might as well wear black pants with a brown belt...anyway...if you are talking about an overlay, they are ok, but they do lift...and ya gotta hope that it lines up just right or it will look cheap. actual molded carbon fiber panels will be expensive...but they would look better. why are you replacing the interior?? is it all messed up or are you just looking for a new look?

I was just considering putting on one of these overlay kits because my factory "rubber" coating is peeling in many places, and there are several scratches on my console... Thought they might look pretty good in a carbon fiber type finish...

Buy from a well known company :smash:
I'm into month #9 trying to staighten out my carbon fiber nightmare.
My car came with a wood kit :skep:
I'm not the woodsy type so I bought black carbon fibre.
If you clean your parts well, and use aheasive promoter on the dash pieces, the product will stick well.

I bought mine on eBay for $150. it included the whole dash the doors and the back speakers. It was very easy to install and still looks GREAT! I took a picture of my kit after I installed it and sent it to the seller and to my surprise he uses my picture to advertise his kits for my year! The picture in the auction below is my car.

I bought my kit from Autodash Emporium: http://www.autodash.com To keep the kit from coming off, clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and then use one of the included alcohol pads. I did not get the doors as clean as I should have and now the two long pieces have pealed back some. I need to use some epoxy to glue them back on, or get just the door inserts to replace the ones that are coming off. I may do the later so that if I ever sell my Vette, the next owner won't have to buy new door skins. they will need to buy the center console trim area, as if it is removed, the plastic coating on the trim will come off with the carbon fiber. I really like the carbon fiber look.
