My 86 with 91,000 miles had a bad case of morning sickness. I read a post earlier about using a turkey baster to change the power steering fluid so I gave it a try. AMAZING results. When I first sucked the old fluid out I was surprised at how black to fluid was, and it was full of junk. After just two flushes the morning sickness is gone. I am on my fourth flush trying to get the fluid clean and I am just amazed at the difference in the way the steering feels, and no more morning sickness. I would highly recommend this to anyone that has alot of miles on their vehicle.
I sucked the old fluid out with a turkey baster. Then I refilled it with some GM fluid and some Lucas Power Steering Oil. The refill fixed the "morning sickness" while the Lucas stopped my leak. :D
I suck out the old fluid with every oilchange. I use a gear oil pump. Works great but you need to keep it vertical. I also use Valvoline synthetic ps fluid. :hurray:
