While OE style wheels are nice, IMHO a deeper dish wheel is far more aggressive looking. Look at a 5 series BMW coming down the road, the deep wheel jumps out and makes the rest of the car look more muscular. It's one of the reasons the Torque thrusts look so good on our cars.

I have black ZR-1's and would trade them in a second for a deep dish style. There are a ton of wheels out there that are very bold. Do a google search for "billet wheels" or "custom wheels". Check out some of Boyds and Budnick wheels.

Good luck!!

I like the look of chrome Z06 rims on the White Vettes, of course I am a little partial to this. I have 18x9.5's all the way around. I bought mine from eBay through AFS for $1200 (included rims and new Toyo Proxies, mounted and balanced). All I had to do was remove from box and put on car. Figuring the cost of tires, that was a steal! As for your question concerning backspacing, in 1988 they changed the back spacing, so your 89 can use the newer styles without any problem. I have 275/35/18's all the way around. My speedometer is off .8 mph (shows faster than true speed). That little bit was worth it. This site was posted by another member and has some great info about the different offsets and at the bottom has a calculator for the speedometer for changing to different sizes: http://w1.601.telia.com/~u60113743/corvette_wheels/
Definitely, check that out! Another thing about the 18" tires. I have found them to be cheaper than the 255/45/17 and 285/40/17's I was running on my Vette. Go figure, another inch bigger and the price actually went down! I have plenty of room behind the rim to upgrade the brakes to the C5 calipers (or you could go even larger). Good luck on your decision. If you want to see more picts of my white Vette with the 18"s: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...elected=506463
