Default cam button wear

When converting an engine to a roller cam, I assume the best cam buttons to use are the roller versions. I expect that the solid aluminum buttons eventually wear through the timing cover, and that the nylon buttons simply wear out. Is it reasonable to expect a roller cam button to last 150,000 miles?

On a flat tappet cam, the lobes are ground with a slight taper, front to rear. This is to promote lifter rotation in their bores. This taper causes forward thrust on the camshaft. On a roller cam, the lobes are ground flat, straight across. There is no thrust with a roller cam, other than that caused by the helical distributor gear. It mostly "floats" in it's neutral position. The thrust button is under little or no pressure. It merely locates the cam. It ought to last forever.
