My heater only works of the first three settings. It just shuts off on the highest setting. I have looked at the resisters in the heat exchanger they seem to be fine and all 4 wire have 12 volts. Has anyone had a similar problem could it be the switch? Any ideas would be helpful.
How about a little help for the new guy :seeya I know its not as sexy as performance stuff But... will it help to know that the first mod I did was to install 275 30 19s on 19X9.5 Sterlings? It really helped update the car but I want the A/C to blow full this summer any ideas why the motor won't work when in the hi setting?
Hi blower takes a direct path to the Relay whereas the other positions go through the resistors. GM has used an orange wire for this position forever so look for that wire at the relay connector (relay should be on the firewall above the blower motor) and check it for 12 volts with the blower on high. If present, the switch is good and the relay is bad. Otherwise, it's the switch.
It was the relay under the blower motor. Not fun to get out but just a plug in once the inner fender and undercoating was off. Thanks very much for the help SunCr.
