Re: Air Pump Replacement Pulley Kit Question (ir0nmaiden420)
Don't expect 20 hp.
I removed mine because it was going out, but mostly to clean up my engine bay. The pump and braces that hold it can be removed, and also the diverter valve plus all the hoses going to it.
It was definitely worth it for that reason alone, but I can honestly say I didn't feel any real difference in power.
Re: Air Pump Replacement Pulley Kit Question (ir0nmaiden420)
Also, check out the kit from Dragon's Breath Performance. They recently had a GP on them, and I think the member's who purchased them were very happy. They have 2 different styles, one which is more resistant to twisting than the other. Just ask them about it.
Re: Air Pump Replacement Pulley Kit Question (ir0nmaiden420)
ironmaiden, watch out for the dragon's breath kit. I had to do major cutting/re-drilling, even after getting a 2nd bracket at no charge. I have an 85, and you have an 86, which is what 86moon has, and he had the same problem I did. Bob may have worked out the misfitment issues, but just thought I'd give you a heads up. :seeya
Re: Air Pump Replacement Pulley Kit Question (jmrl98)
I've got the Dragon's Breath kit on my 87 and had no problems with installation. I purchased the polished with the billet pulley, it looks great and Dragon's Breath was wonderful to deal with. Good Luck

Yup this thing was nowhere even close to fitting on my '86. He sent out a replacement which was supposed to fix the problem, but it didn't. If you have an '85 or '86 I would stay away from the dragon breath's kit.
