high performance driveshafts
While these occurances do happen with people ruining these 1/2 shafts, Corky and I ran ours all last year, 100+ passes with our setup and had zero issues, jeb ran his down to 1.3 60' times on the juice, I tend to believe they are ALOT tougher than 300rwhp cars are going to dish out.
When a failure does occure, I can almost assure you there was a root cause which was not fully induced by motor torque alone. There is no way a 300rwhp car alone is going to ruin a defect free 1/2shaft on one of these cars.
I check mine before every race thoughly, and even went as far as painting a straight line on them to detect twisting, and very saw any signs.
Its like everything else, thing tend to get over stated.
However, if its not smaller in radius than the stocker by the right amount, its not going to free up any HP, if its too big its going to cost a few. There are two components to rotational inertia, mass and radius and you need to reduce the whole quantity to get HP back.

Yep. Some guys have even "lost" horsepower by switching to larger brakes and/or wheels. Even if the components weigh the same as OE , you can loose power if that weight is spread further away from the center of rotation.
