Default Performance MODS on my 92

Stock except for flowmasters. Any ideas where to start for reasonably priced mods?

Did the G92 Axle option come with 3.73? I thought It was 3.45

Heck, with a auto I thought the only options were 2.59, 2.73, or 3.07.

I would think 3.07's, unless someone dropped a D44 in there. You can fit upto 3.73's in a D36, but the inherent weakness of a D36 will eat the diff for lunch after a few good launches!

Performance G92 axle in the automatic was 3.07, 3.45 and 3.73 were not offered from the factory.

If you already have new mufflers, you would get something from 1.6RR and/or longtube headers that you can feel.

Further than that, we're talking cam change, headwork, etc. If you want something you'll feel.
LT1's were fairly well designed.

LT1s.....in my opinion are to well designed....direct bolt ons add small gains ...the exhaust on my 94 ...3'' pipes cut off the cats.add just perfomance mufflers or elimators..you will flow just about as good as any expensive catback sys.....1.6rr small gains....headers ...good ..but not a whopping gain...expensive .....torque converter best bang..but no hp gain...but a must have for launching....still might not do 12s in the 1/4 mile.....conclusion base on my experience with LT1s.......If you can't afford to go in the motor and do it right the first time....[ cams, heads ported, intake, timimg chain up grade]

THE BEST MODS FOR STOCK LT1 ARE.........2800 torque converter....Dana 44 with 3.45s or 3.54s or 3.73s...and drag radials ....aand no stock c5 or non driving Z06 driver will know what hit them....end of dicussion...I think

For some stuff that won't exactly make you feel it, but may add up over time with other parts. Some will argue no gain, but oh well, they're free....

Coolant By-Pass
Open Lid

Open lid you just basically dremel the metal off of the filter box that covers the filter up. Simple enough. And for the coolant, well, you may want to, may not want to waste/spend your time with it, but basically just re-route the coolant so it doesn't go through the throttle body at the bottom.

Other than that, save up for all the expensive stuff and hold on tight :steering:

--------------------------------------------------------------I AgREE

I said once I'll say it again.....after putting in 3.54 gears, 2600 stall TC , 1.7rr soon...shift kit...gran. maf....catback exhaust....blew the D36 once...pro-built trans...and still can get into the 12s consistenlly......calculate the cost.....

CAN YOU SAY $5000 ......3.54 pumkin..600 install..250......2600tc ..JW....550
including install.....1.7rr ..hardn pushrod ...guide place...420.....500..install..
tranny rebuilt shift kit....1700...power effects muffler..900.. reinstalled D36 250.....and still notin the 12s consistenly....

THE BEST MODS FOR A STOCK LT1...IS DANA 44...WITH 3.45 OR 3.54 OR 3.73 GEARS....AND 2800 STALL TC...WITH DRAG RADIALS..12s all day long for less than 5000 dollars
:iagree:
