When I attempt to put my car in park, it goes in reverse. All other gears work. I was told this may be a transmission linkage issue. My car is an automatic. Has anyone experienced this issue before? If so, what was the outcome? Cost?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
The cable end at the tranny is slotted and can be adjusted.
Reach under the car at the driver's door till you feel the cable and the A4 shifter linkage. Put the shifter into PARK position, loosen the bolt, move the linkage end toward the rear of the car and tighten the bolt.
Mover the shifter through the gear positions; if any position doesn't line up tweak the prior adjustment.
