Ok, I got the car running, and the last time that i checked it was holding 40psi. So it started up and was idling at 19k, then when i put it into gear and drove it it went down to normal. So as im driving down the road about 5 miles from my house it dies at a light. I waited for a little and then it finally started back up and i drove it home. On the way home i felt it cut out a few times but never died. Why is it doing this? I just put in new injectors and I hooked everything back up. Whats the deal???
what kind of vacuum ya pulling maybe you have a vac leak or iac is acting up are any of the other gages acting funny. Is thier a fuel smell.check the things you removed first ,vac lines ect. something isnt right.Did you clean the throttle body while you had it off.
Put the fuel pressure guage back on the rail and prime the system....then check to see how long it holds 40psi...Only for 30 seconds or so?? or for longer. Mine will hold for around an hour before it drops at all. If it starts to drop off at all within a few minutes or so, i would say you still have a leak.
Then, check for vacuum leaks. Listen for that taletale whistling sound, and take some air intake cleaner and spray it around the places that could be leaky while the car is running ie(the cold start injector, plenum to runner seals, etc) and listen for idle changes which would imply a leak. After that, check your actually vacuum readings with the vacuum gauge hooked up to a major vacuum line and post your readings here.
After you do that, if you still have the problem then put the fuel pressure gauge back on the rail, close the hood as much as you can and rest in on the windshield where you can read it and drive around. Pay attention and record what the pressure is at idle when in gear, and watch what happens when you accelerate slowly, and stomp it. When you accelerate slowly the pressure should increase slowly, and steadily and when you stomp it it should go up quickly, and stay there until you let off. If it doesn't do this, pay attention to what it is doing and post it here.
