Broke Hood
Well I went out an bought the hood tool for the 84-96 vette and tryed it
and it seems that the one latch that is the touble is stuck pretty bad...
I can't get in... does anyone have any other ideas on how to get in... :mad :boxing

There was a recent posting on how to make a tool to open the hood. It even had instructions for dummies like me! Do a search and you will find it!

I bought the tool as well when I had this problem but it didnt help me...I had a friend try as well (with my supervision) no luck. I called all the local Gm dealerships and spoke to a tech that had worked on these hood antics before. Well $30 bucks and 40 minutes later I was out of the shop :cheers: This hood had plagued me for almost a month. The tool usually helps but not in my case :nonod: after the hood was opened at GM I looked and the hood had some scrapes on the inside...most likely from me trying several hours during one week. Good luck

I had the problem with the pass. side of the hood. Made the tool exactly like the gm flyer stated. Didnt work as they stated but did after a vette mechanic bent it differently and got it from the middle of the hood going just in front of the hood spring/latch. Also made emergency latch pulls using plastic wire ties. Work flawless. Never a stuck hood again. :yesnod:

When you do get it open, grease the female part of the hood latches. I did this a few weeks ago, and now my hood unlatches silkey smooth.
It was so bad before, I broke the release handle.

Guys, he already has the hood tool.
The latch is probably seized together. Have someone push down repeatedly on that corner of the hood while you use the opening tool.
