There are two brass screws that bleed air on the LT-1. One is located on the top thermostat housing and the other is below the throttle body on the lower right side. While the engine is cool, start-it-up and bleed the thermostat first then the throttle body. I top off the radiator cap to the top first and close it up then I fill up the reservior. Do this at least twice and turn the heat on to make certain everything is flowing and the air should move out to the bleeder screws. Good luck and make certain you watch your temps. It only takes two minutes to heat-up to the red, when you have air in the system. :)
I have no idea why it moved my reply to the top of the thread???
I need to completly drain the cooling system. The Chilton manual is not clear on a few things. They say "if equiped" open the air bleed valves on the thermostat housing and the throttle body unit. Does a 94 have these and is it necessary to open them. They also say remove the engine knock sensors from lower engine block and "if equiped" the engine block coolant drain hole plug. Can someone simplify this procedure for me.
Chilton also recomends changing the rear axle gear lubricant every 7500 miles. Is this something I need to do? Thanks
