Default Tire Question???

Currently I have the stock 92 wheels on my car with 275/40 x 17 tires. I've been looking at both the 2K five spokes or the ZR1 five spoke wheels. I would like to get new wheels without having to get new tires. From my research my current tires are good for anyting that is 9.0 to 11.0 in width. So I have two questions:
1) Is it at all possible to fit my current tires on the 17 x 8.5 2K rims?

2) Can I fit my current tires on the rear 17 x 11 ZR1 wheels for the mean time until I can afford the 315's for the back.

275s wont work on an 11" rim, they will work for the 8.5" but will bulge out considerably.

275s on an 8.5" rim look like crap. Like you're ready to go off-roading. I would stick with the ZR1 style 9.5" wheels if you wanna keep your tires. Or you could get some 9.5" Z06 wheels

I think if I see another C4 with "look-alike" ZR1 wheels, I'm gonna puke. Do something original or at least something that 50% of every C4 owner who has changed their wheels doesn't have on their car.

Go to the ROH website. I have them. They're excellent quality racing wheels and made in Australia. I've never seen another car (of any brand) with them and only heard of one guy from this forum that has them. And he lives in Australia!
I bought mine used off EBay with almost new Sumitomo's for $650. When they arrived, there wasn't a scratch on them. I got so lucky.

FWIW,
Not much help with your question however. Sorry.

:jester

Actually mine are not "look-alike" ZR1 wheels, they are factory CE Wheels.

Just pullin' your chain. People must like the look. I know I do.

I like the look, but in black.

I've seen 275's on 11" rims and they are not meant for a rim that wide.
As for wheels, take a look at American Racing Torq Thrust II's, a few guys here had them and they look awesome on a C4. They come in many width's and diameters.

IMHO most cars look like hell on aftermarket wheels. At least with the ZR-1 or Z06 wheels it was actually an OEM vette wheel and hence doesn't look so out of place. Most aftermarket wheels make me wanna :U
