ZF6 differences between years? D36 vs D44?
Will any year that is non-ZR1 tranny work with my 95?
I read that the earlier ZF6 was stronger with it's straighter cut gears, but I was thinking about playing it safe and sticking with 94-96.
Anybody know the differences?
Also, I want to retain the D36 since I will not be dragging this anytime soon. Are the D44 and D36 cases the same length, or would I need a custom drive shaft that is somewhere between a A4 and M6?
Thanks!
Generally, use the driveshaft / C beam that suits the diff as the cases are different lengths.
Will need to change front yoke to suit ZF6 as is different from 700R4 / 4+3 yoke.TH400 fits
Get the ZF beam and driveshaft for future D44 swap!

The so-called "black tag" is so much better... it is worth it. And it is a direct fit for any other ZF (except LT5 cars).
