I can just imagine it now. Like an episode from "The Simpsons". You back into the garage, hit the wrong switch and burn the house down!!! :lolg:

Looks wicked on a 50's lead sled. Would look stupid on a vette though :nonod:

I saw a "flame competition" at a hot-rod show last year. All the competitors had to have a circuit that would kill the ignition when they hit the flames to pump enough oxygen into the tail pipe to support a flame. The engines almost died every time they hit the flames.

All things considered, it was less than impressive.

Now the burnout competition was a different story... :D

And here I thought the Ricers were trying to ape the overrun flames from a turbo (no emissions) race car. I remember watching the turbos light up the evening back in the old days (80s and 90s) when I'd head over to Sears Point to watch the SCCA and IMSA racing series. As the turbo racers would approach a corner the cars would momentarily "flame" when they'd overrun after heel-and-toeing.

I also remember seeing a few of the old lead sleds at a car show I'd frequent in Scottsdale use the old sparkplug-in-the-exhaust trick. The kids would be freaked, and the old timers would chuckle and reminisce about the old days.

Saw something pretty funny at our local drags. The one goofball had one of these setup on his car and thought it would be cute to show it off while in line. He did and the flames came pretty close to the car behind him, of which was a pretty nice older car. The guy in the older car came out of his car so fast, the punk kid did not see him coming. The older guy threw the kid up again his car and I thought the older guy was going to kill him. The kid looked like  the old guy let him really have it verbally. But I thought it was going to get physical. Probably the only reason it didn't is the kid kept his mouth shut.

Don't think he will be shooting any flames anymore, without looking behind him first :lolg:

You can do the same thing with a fart and a cigarette lighter. Don't catch your pants on fire.

In college I saw a guy do this with a nylon mesh swim suit. Fortunately for him the swimming pool was close. Unfortunately for us Darwinism works slowly.
