Who knows??New Lower Ball Joints,Rims,Tires were switched-Ft. to Back.Idler arms look very good with no play.Rack and pinion replaced about 50,000 miles ago, current mileage 107,000.As soon as you get to 64 mph the steering wheel tries to shake itself loose! :banghead:
Usually its the lower balljoints, so since thats new you have to check everything. Could be really bad shocks, could be a really bad alignment, tie rods, bushings...I even remember someone replacing a tranny tailshaft to fix it.
I had the same problem with my 92 front end also. Turned out to out of round tires. I have Dunlop SP 8000's, 275x40x17" wheels. Took the tires back to dealer and got new ones that were round. Do not let them shave the old out of round tires. That only means you will get less mileage out of a new set.

Ditto - I had the same thing , shimmy around 62-64. I had an out of round front tire... Replaced it, shimmy gone.
Mine was outer tie rod ends. Plus the fellow that balanced the wheels, hadn't had his maching "zero'd in" for months. I replaced the tie rod ends for 50 bucks, and the fellow rebalanced the wheels and voila, no more bounce and jiggle from 64mph....yes, that was right where mine came in also.
Now, don't misunderstand me here, the problem was with the wheel balance not being done right.....the bad tie rods, only served to exacerbate the problem to where I could actually feel it in the steering wheel.
