Opti Spark Question
Has anyone had any experience replacing their opti spark on their 95-96 corvette. I guess mine is going out and need to replace it but i wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on where to buy one and how much would it cost?

You can get a good price from Chris @ Superior Chevrolet, 1-800-728-8267 Be sure and get a new oil seal for the opti and a set of water pump gaskets.
Installation is very straightforward, although it can be cramped. If you've never done it before expect it to take a while. If you've wrenched on your vette as much as some of the long time forum members have, you can do it in about 2 hours. You'll spend more time scraping away old water pump gasket material than you will doing anything else. :cheers:

Be sure you actually need it replaced first! Our '96 had a small drip from the w/pump but was caught early. Unable to find a shop to make the repair (and having no clue myself), I had to go to the dealership. The service manager pushed the opti replacement also, but explaining to him that there were no telltale signs, we only did the pump. No problems at all. Make sure whoever says you need to replace the opti isn't looking for$ ( unless, of course, it's you). Good luck!
