I've seen folks with 315s on 9.5s...and they looked ok...but they didn't wear for nuth'n. IMHO...Not a good idea.

Re: have u ever tried............ (Perfusion)
If you want 315's on the back, but want to retain the sawblades, try to find some '91/'92 ZR1 rears. 315's can be physically mounted on a 9.5" wheel, but it's a bad idea.

Re: have u ever tried............ (CorvetteZ51Racer)
Good idea on matching the wheel design, but on an 88+ up car, they are going to be protruding beyond the fender lip by probably a good 3/4 -1". If the car is lowered or the suspension goes into full bump, it's going to bottom out on the fender lip rather than the bumpstops.
While I wouldn't do it, it's not the end of the world for a 315 to be fit on an 9.5" wheel for a "driver".

I run 285/40/17 on my 9.5's & they fit real nice.

Dude, its definately a bad idea. If you are driving at high speeds the sidewalls will heat up and weaken and eventually a blowout is iminant.

Re: have u ever tried............ (waterdogvette)
I did.
Looked VERY nice, but I had less traction than stock tires, as the contact patch wasn't perfect on teh 9.5" wheels..

Present. :D
But meanwhile I have seen a 315 mounted on a 9.5" rim, and IMO -- :nonod:
The tire practically folds over the lip of the rim, probably has a good 3/4-1" of tire past the rim, just get a 285, that should work fine.
