I have the say the install went very well. I bought the SPEC Steel flywheel and the stage II disk and pressure plate. I finially got to hear and experiance the "noise" at idle I have been hearing about when switching to a single mass flywheel. I do not think it is bad. What I do think is bad is the noise the transmission makes under load when it is lugged a bit. I think that part is terrible and not really mentioned that much. One thing is for certain though, my vibration is completely gone. The motor is silky smooth now and seems more powerful. So I gues that proves that my flywheel was not balanced correctly. The other thing is that my motor does not rev any faster. Even with the DMF, my motor revved very fast. Knowing what I know now, I would have had my DMF re-balanced. Other than the noise, the clutch seems to work fine but I am going to take it easy for a while.
Re: Spec II Installed. Results and comments (devilfish)
More Performance did it for me. They milled off the counter weight then added/removed material from the outer edge. Obviously it was not correctly. He said they are almost impossible to nutral balance because the two parts move independant of each other.

:iagree:
I agree. I have a spec Stage II (Despite what everyone says about SPEC, my stage II has held up great under nitrous use, drag strip, SCCA events, etc.) and Fidanza 12 pound flywheel.
Nobody talks about the noise when lugging the engine, going uphills, being in too high of a geat at too low of a speed. To me, I am used to it, and its a reminder to downshift.
I disagree about the part with the engine revving faster. Mine definitely revs faster. What I notice is the car responds quicker when your foot hits the gas pedal.

My SPEC steel flywheel weighs I think 26 pounds so compared to your 12 pound flywheel I bet yours does rev faster. This flywheel has made my car drive completely different. My motor is so smooth now. I can't believe I waited this long to change it. It also feels as though I picked up a chuck of power. Also the vibration I had must have been noisy because now I can hear the exhaust more past 4000. It is hard to explain what I mean by noisy but it had a harmonic to it.
