I'm not sure of the complete list but at least:
-'90/'91 ECM & calpac and wiring (or partial wiring)
-MAP sensor
-'90 or '91 intake duct (if it will fit between your '88 air filter & TB)
-Cold start injector block off (not necessary but a good idea)

It would be a good idea to pick up a '90 or '91 GM Shop Manual to go with your '88 version so you can do an exact comparison of ECM wiring.

If you can't get the parts on our Forum or E-Bay, you might try Contemporary Corvette (link on my site) as they have a large Vette bone yard in eastern PA.

Just curious, but why do you want to change to Speed Density? After looking at the mods listed in your sig, you would probably be better off with a MAF car. What problem are you trying to solve by switching to SD?

:iagree: Save yourself the trouble and stick with MAF. I switched when I was trying to tune my Miniram. I now run the Super Ram and could probably switch back.

Will the DigiDash work properly with the newer ECM?

I was thinking about doing this to the 86 but only if the MPG readouts/tach/speedo/etc still work properly.

The dash works but the MPG and range function will not.

I dont see why you would want a SD system unless youre putting a SC on it.

MAF is more than adequate.

:iagree: My 1991 Camaro was an SD car and just about everytime you think of a new mod, you have to consider Re- Promming. Maf's are a bit more forgiving towards mods.. :U

If you want to repin about 6 wires and take the MAF off and use the SAME ECU, use the Holden 808 program. I'm running it on my 89 and been 10.90 and get 20.0 mpg with it.

Wish it did get 200 mpg! 20 mpg

I was wondering about this is I am thinking of a supercharger and am thinking ahead....and for a custom air intube with filter......If this is a bunch of money...I can put that to better use than this.....

Johnnyevans,
Tell me more about what you are talking about.....I am a little lost....what that stuff is...

An australian GM car with MAP uses almost identical hardware in the ECM (1227808) as the TPI ECM (1227165). You can put a 808 chip in the 165 and replace the MAF with a MAP. The MAP sensor connects to an unused pin in the 165 harness.

I helped a frined of mine with a turbo project on a 1987 350 IROC Camaro. We put a 2-bar MAP from a cy/ty on it and a tweaked 808 chip. It works great. You see the MAP sensor above the brake booster.

:iagree:
I agree with he 808 swap/repin. I believe from what I read you will need the memal from a 730 ecm for the knock sensor to work. Theres a plethora of info about this on TGO. Theres also someone there whos running a 730 SC and trying to write in a 2 bar map. I think hes making progress, and it sure would be nice if he gets it to work.

Your best bet apollo is to use something that was made to handle a forced induction charge, and SD. This is easy as well. convert to a TY/CY ECM. They are much the same as the 730, but are able to read a 2bar map and have provisions already setup for a turbo/supercharger. You can run this ECM without those items as well. here is a link that will give you the info

http://www.speedtoys.com/~bort62/7749/Main.htm
It's a 749 ECM and it will work fine in a vette.
